Vande Bharat’s Big Leap: Four New Trains Set to Transform Indian Railways
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Indian Railways service will be much better with the addition of four new Vande Bharat Express trains. These semi-high-speed trains will make it much easier to get around important states like Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. Millions of people will be able to travel by train faster and more comfortably.

The Vande Bharat Express series started in 2019, and these trains have changed how people travel medium distances in India. There will be 164 Vande Bharat services now that the new ones have been added. This shows that Indian Railways is serious about modernizing its fleet and making rail travel faster and more reliable for more people.

The four new Vande Bharat trains will run on the following important routes: From Bengaluru (KSR) to Ernakulam (Kochi), which makes it easier for people in Karnataka and Kerala to get to each other.

  • Firozpur Cantt to Delhi, which goes straight from Punjab to the capital of India.

  • Going from Varanasi to Khajuraho connects Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

  • Lucknow to Saharanpur, which will make it easier for people in Uttar Pradesh to get around the state.

These trains are different from regular trains because they have high-tech features. The KAVACH automatic train protection system, which has design and operational speeds of 180/160 km/h, air-conditioning units that disinfect the air with UV-C lamps, jerks-free semi-permanent couplers, fully sealed gangways, and automatic plug doors that make the insides bigger, are some of these. There are better fire safety systems, CCTV cameras in every coach, emergency alarm push buttons, talk-back units, and special bathrooms for people with disabilities because safety is very important.

People who have used Vande Bharat services have been very happy with them. During the fiscal year 2024–25, these trains were full more than 100% of the time. By June 2025, they were full more than 105% of the time. This shows that more and more people from India are choosing to ride them.

The new Vande Bharat Express trains not only speed up travel between major cities and regions, but they also make train travel safer and more comfortable, which makes it a better choice. This rollout also strategically includes corridors that don’t get enough attention, which makes it easier for people and businesses to connect with each other.

Indian Railways keeps making train travel better by adding these four new trains, which will be in service soon. They use speed, comfort, and technology to meet the needs of a country that is growing quickly.
