Bharti Airtel Reports Strong Q1 FY25 Results with Increased ARPU
On Monday, Bharti Airtel announced a notable increase in its average revenue per user (ARPU), a crucial performance metric in the telecommunications industry, rising to Rs 211 in Q1 FY25, up from Rs 200 in Q1 FY24.
The telecom giant exceeded profit expectations for the first quarter, driven by a growing number of users opting for faster, higher-margin 4G and 5G services. Bharti Airtel’s consolidated profit soared more than 2.5 times, reaching Rs 4,160 crore for the quarter ending June 30, 2024, compared to Rs 1,612.5 crore in the same period last year.
Additionally, the company’s consolidated revenue from operations rose by 2.8% to Rs 38,506.4 crore, up from Rs 37,440 crore in the June quarter of the previous year. Notably, Bharti Airtel’s India revenue experienced a robust year-on-year growth of 10.1%, amounting to Rs 29,046 crore.
As the second-largest telecom operator in the country by subscriber count, Bharti Airtel has effectively capitalized on the increasing adoption of mobile internet, offering premium internet and bundled plans that have contributed to its enhanced ARPU. In contrast, Vodafone, the third-largest telecom provider, has struggled with both subscriber and ARPU growth.
