On August 13, Google will launch the most recent Pixel 9 line of smartphones in India. Three variants in the series—the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold—have previously been confirmed by the company. According to a recent Pixel 9 ad on Flipkart, Google may only ship two of these three smartphones to India.
This is different from the previous year, when Google skipped the Pixel Fold and instead unveiled the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in India. Google appears to be concentrating on introducing only its highest-end Pixel smartphones to India this year, which will probably result in higher price points. Those looking for a less expensive choice might have to think about models from prior generations.
Additionally, Google began producing Pixel smartphones in India this year, which may allow the business to charge a higher price for these products.
An in-house Tensor G4 processor will power the whole Pixel 9 series, which is anticipated to be the first batch of smartphones to ship with Android 15, which includes several new AI features. Google has made enough adjustments to assist distinguish between the two versions of Pixel smartphones even if it has kept the same industrial design.
