Apple surprises with major product refresh, introducing new iPad Pro, Vision Pro and 14-inch MacBook Pro all equipped with game-changing M5 processor. This new generation Apple silicon features industry-leading artificial intelligence (AI) and graphics performance, breakthrough connectivity and en-abling cutting-edge software experiences in the the most powerful pro devices, while delivering super long battery life.

The M5 Chip: Apple’s New Performance Powerhouse

At the heart of all three devices is the M5 chip, which has been made on a state-of-the-art 3-nanometer manufacturing process. M5 features a next-generation 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, and has a Neural Accelerator included in all of its GPU cores. Apple promises up to 3.5x the machine learning performance of last year’s M4 series and as much as 5.6x more than the M1 era, paving the way for new opportunities in on-device learning, graphics, and data processing without having to lean on cloud power.

That chip offers 153GB/s of unified memory bandwidth — nearly a 30 percent increase compared to its predecessor, enabling bigger AI model training runs, quicker creative workflows and smooth multitasking on all three new products. The redesigned Neural Engine and GPU for hardware-accelerated raytracing and mesh shading also adds support for powerfully advanced AI-based workflows like local LLMs, real-time text to image, and on the edge of spatial computing.

iPad Pro with M5: Portable Power for AI Creativity

The latest iPad Pro arrives as the most powerful tablet Apple has ever made, combining the M5 chip’s AI brawn with gorgeous hardware and fresh features in a completely new iPadOS 26. The new iPad Pro is available in 11 and 13-inch sizes, as well as space black or silver color options, and delivers up to 3.5 times faster AI performance than the previous M4-based model.

Highlighted specs are the ultra-crisp Ultra Retina XDR display, a new N1 wireless chip that’s compatible with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, as well as a C1X 5G modem supporting up to 50% faster cellular data. The iPad Pro can also drive external displays at up to 120Hz refresh, a significant improvement for professional and creative users.

Paired with the iPadOS 26 focused on AI workflows, complex design and professional apps, the new iPad Pro targets artists, engineers and power users that demand cutting-edge performance from a portable device. The cost of entry is $999, preorders are up now and in-store sales kick off Oct. 22.

Vision Pro with M5: Immersive AI and Next-Gen Comfort

Powered by the M5 chip and the all-new Dual Knit Band, Apple’s Vision Pro XR (Extended Reality) headset offer a strong performance boost and added comfort. The new M5-powered Vision Pro offers up to 50% more AI processing, twice the speed for third-party apps and high-end visual effects such as real-time ray tracing that creates an unparalleled environment experience.

Battery life gets a boost, to 2.5 hours of general usage and up to three hours of video playback. The device also gets a display upgrade withthat killer sharpness (10% more pixels) while it’s capable of refreshing at 120Hz for better-looking graphics, and can enable all new features that come in visionOS 26 including interactive environments and the Apple Intelligence languageas well. The new comfort band is sold separately, as a $99 accessory that’s backward-compatible to prior models and adjustable.

Preorders for the new Vision Pro start today, with an availability date of October 22 and a starting price of $3,499.

MacBook Pro with M5: The Ultimate AI Laptop

The 14-inch MacBook Pro is also the first of Apple’s laptops to come with the M5 chip, which results in what the company touts as a “massive leap” in AI, graphics, and battery life. The 10-core Neural Engine speeds up everything from AI-assisted creative workflows to on-device LLM tasks, with Apple promising processing that’s up to 3.5 times faster than the M4 model could manage, and as much as 86 times greater performance than legacy Intel-based Macs.

New enhancements include 2x faster storage, an impressive 24 hours of true all-day battery life and rapid app launches and video exports. The MacBook Pro’s Liquid Retina XDR display, Center Stage camera and six-speaker spatial audio are back this time powered by macOS Tahoe with Apple Intelligence suite.

Starting at $1,599 (preorders are open; retail sales kick off on October 22), the MacBook Pro with M5.
