Last month, at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024, Apple revealed iOS 18. The Cupertino-based tech company unveiled a number of new features during the event that will be included in the upcoming big upgrade for the iPhone OS. On the other hand, some features that were not disclosed at the event are now being identified. Two additional features in the Weather app have now been discovered via a report. One of the features is supposed to make a little design adjustment and move the “Feels Like” temperature to a visible location for users.
Improvements to the iOS 18 Weather app
Two recent improvements to iOS 18’s Weather app have been spotted by 9to5Mac, which may make it more user-friendly. The ‘Feels Like’ temperature will now be shown more prominently beneath the current temperature at the top of the app’s UI, per photographs that the publication published. This will be a significant improvement over the present placement, where users must scroll down to view this metric. It is said that “Feels Like” will be displayed in a distinct font style and size to facilitate differentiation.
‘Feels Like’ temperature refers to the real feeling of heat or cold, not the air temperature as measured by weather stations. This takes into account a number of variables, including air temperature, wind speed, and the impact of relative humidity, to show how a person would actually feel about the weather. Users of the Weather app can now view both values simultaneously thanks to this update.
Users will apparently be able to check the weather at both their home and place of employment using the second function. With the iOS 18 upgrade, the Weather app will be able to gather home and work addresses and link with Contacts. According to the report, users of the app would perceive them as new locales to add to their list of conveniently tracked weather spots. Before, in order to check their weather updates, users had to manually add these areas.
