On April 14, 2026, which is also World Quantum Day, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will open India’s first quantum computing testbeds. This important event makes Amaravati the country’s first center for quantum technology.

The launch includes two indigenous facilities: the 1S superconducting testbed at SRM University, Amaravati and the 1Q test bed located in Medha Towers, Gannavaram (near Vijayawada). Naidu will physically participate in the SRM event and launch the Gannavaram site virtually, which features for a live demonstration of the quantum processor cooling process. Besides, quantum scientists, IIT professors, start-up heads and representatives of National Quantum Mission along with over 1.5 lakh students from Andhra Pradesh universities will also join virtually in the programme.
